New Luxury Outerwear from Recycled Plastic Bottles Asanox is a British menswear brand which started up in 2016. Their main focus is performance jackets that can be worn in an outdoor setting, but that also fit into stylish city culture. This year Asanox have decided to go down a more sustainable route to try to combat the issue of ocean plastic pollution by launching a collection made of recycled materials. It is exclusively available on Kickstarter and is running from September 3rd – October 3rd 2017. About Asanox: Asanox was created in 2016 by two friends with very different backgrounds. An ex-Royal Marine Commando from Scotland and a high-end fashion designer from Germany who has gained experience working for brands such as Gucci & Vivienne Westwood. The design inspiration of their jackets has come from their friends, life in London & exploring the mountain regions of Europe. Asanox also puts on exciting & sporty weekend events, which can be booked on asanox.com The Kickstarter Collection: Fabrics have been sourced from Japan & Switzerland with high performance properties such as insulation, aeration and being rain-proof. The padded & quilted items are filled with EcoDown® by Thermore®, an ultra-fine filling made of 100% recycled fibres from PET bottles. The Cotton Sports Jacket features fabric by Ventile®, a 100% cotton military & workwear material that was designed to save the lives of pilots flying fighter escorts on the Atlantic and Russian convoys. Worn by Sir Ranulph Fiennes whilst crossing the Antarctic, it has incredible performance properties, whilst being made of 100% natural fibres. The range also includes some 100% organic cotton t-shirts inspired by one James’ favourite hiking spots, Ben Nevis. Prototypes have been tried & tested by James who emphasizes on practical details: Generous amount of large pockets, long sporty zip pullers, stashable hoods, earphone holders, ventilation zips and compartments for ski-passes. The overall colour scheme is focused on classic and timeless colours such as charcoal, military green and navy. Jackets from £125, T-shirts from £40. Asanox has also teamed up with the ocean clean-up charity Surfers Against Sewage (sas.org.uk) and will be donating a percentage of their proceeds to help combat the issue.
