A NEW WAY TO BRUSH
Billions of plastic toothbrushes are thrown out every year – your new Bristle won’t be one of them. We have spent an awful lot of time pondering over how to make it as easy as possible for you to swap to our eco-friendly bamboo toothbrush, and we are pretty excited with the results!
Plastic pollution is devastating the environment. Recent environmental sampling estimates that a total of 12.2 million tonnes of plastic enters the marine environment each year. 94% of the plastic in our oceans is actually on the sea floor, where it is almost impossible to clean up. This toxic, petroleum-based waste takes hundreds of years to break down and can be found circulating in ocean currents. It has quickly entered the food chain contaminating what we eat and effecting the water. A recent test showed that 83% of drinking water samples taken across the globe contain plastic pollutants. Our addiction to plastic is choking the earth and threatening all life on it. Every year billions of plastic toothbrushes are thrown away. These are difficult to recycle and many go into landfill or water courses ultimately ending up the sea. It’s fair to assume that every toothbrush you’ve ever used in your lifetime is still somewhere on Earth, leaching harmful pollutants into the soil and water. There are 65.64 million people in the UK. That’s a lot of plastic toothbrushes! Here at Bristle we aim to change the way Britain brushes her teeth, by supplying you with a quality, biodegradable alternative.
