“A woman should never have to sacrifice style for sustainability. Our choices matter – smart fashion is our future. When we first discovered that fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world, we knew that something had to change. Amour Vert was founded on the belief that great fashion and social responsibility can coexist. Our name means Green Love in French, but it also means American manufacturing, non-toxic dyes, sustainable fabrics, a zero-waste philosophy, and above all, enduring style. We believe that together, we can make the world a greener, more beautiful place – one garment at a time. Our Iconic Fabrics Amour Vert’s specially engineered textiles and blended fabrics are crafted to be soft, flattering and long-lasting. We only use low-impact dyes and adopt a zero-waste philosophy. Tencel and Modal Soft, breathable and totally carbon neutral, Tencel® and Modal® fabrics are engineered from fast growing and renewable Eucalyptus and Beech trees. Tencel® and Modal® both have a gentle, sumptuous hand and a perfect drape that makes for the softest t-shirt in the world. Merino Wool Our luxurious Merino wool fibers are sourced from Woolmark approved stations in Australia – which ensure integrity and sustainable oversight from pasture to fiber to mill. While wool can be a high-polluting fiber, our partnership with Australian Wool Innovation and Tollegno1900 ensures that we have the lightest footprint possible. Certified Organic Cotton Liberated from the toxic chemicals used in traditional cotton production, our 100% certified organic cotton stands out among our peers. Our preferred partner is an organic cooperative in Peru to ensure our fibers are superior in quality. Our cotton and cotton blends are durable, smooth and have a sensuous finish that feels delightful against your skin. Recycled Polyester We went the extra mile to create our recycled polyester and polyester blends. The result of some feats of engineering, our fibers come from 100% recycled material and are spun to be ultra soft and flattering. Although polyester (developed in a laboratory in the 1940’s) is nonrenewable, it is highly recyclable and adheres to our Zero Waste design philosophy. Linen Not all linens are created equal. Most commercial linen is saturated with solvents that stay trapped in the fabric for years. Our linen is crafted through a gentle mechanical process that involves only friction and pure water. Spun from the highest quality Italian Flax available, our linen is calming, naturally hypoallergenic and is incredibly fresh and cool in warmer temperatures. Indian Silk We prefer only to use authentic Indian silk for its unparalleled quality and its impressive 5000 year history. Building on tradition, we source only the finest Mulberry silk from a family owned operation to create our lustrous and light fabric. We take great care to use only nontoxic dyes to create our vibrant colors and patterns. Our silks are a breath of fresh air.
